Some Marshall 1987s clippage....

Been yakkin about this the amp page, I just got this big monster Friday, it is a 1988 Marshall 1987s. The very 1st reissue, it is a big box metal panel. Been messing with it a bit, upped a couple caps for more bottom and converted it to a shared cathode set up, which I prefer these days. Have lowered filtering on the way, this one stil has dual 50s all around. I tossed in some old Lowery 12Ax7s from an organ I got, nice sparkely toobz...... Enjoying it a lot!!

I was messing around last night and tossed up a mic, to capture the amp as still a work in progress, but getting very close to where I like it.

I was hoping that the lower value filter caos would arrive today, but they did not. That is a final ingredient that I hope leads to a killer amp on the cheap. Really enjoying this head.....

I meant to post the other day Kev. Always love your tone and the talent. your tone was def very similar to the 1987X I had. I cannot remeber WHY they only made the reissue S for so little time and replaced it with the X..it was in the Marshall book by Doyle, but cannot recall.
