well, I was just messing around like I usuall do and I recorded a few snipets. Some of the songs are definately wrong, but they're just 'snipets' I've pickup from watching other people.

Like I said, it's all off the top of my head, done in 5 minutes type of thing :smack:

Guitar is a basswood body, maple neck strat with Texas specials, 4th postion. All clean, no reverb or anything. Miced with a condenser, master about 2-3.

Mesa . :)

Good stuff. I love the clean on my Rectoverb Combo. Just curious, what is your EQ settings? Those Governor's sound nice also. Noticeable difference compared to the Black Shadow...

I also love the clean on my Mesa Rectoverb - I have the head version. It's clean, quiet, and LOUD! I replaced the V1 preamp tube with a Groove Tube 12AX7-M, which noticeably warmed up the overall sound of the amp, from the clean channel to the OD channel. A great investment if you can spare about 20 bucks.

FYI, my clean settings are as follows (from memory, so they might not be exact). Also, the settings depend on the master volume, since the bass response seems to increase exponentially with volume...

Reverb - full; Prescence - about 1 o'clock; Bass - about 10 o'clock; Mid - 9 o'clock or less; Treble - about 1 o'clock; Gain - about 11 o'clock

EDIT:

This is with the clean channel on clean mode, not pushed.

Funny, my name is Nathan also :cool3:

EQ - IN O'CLOCK's
Output - 8.5 o'clock
Master - 10 o'clock
Presence - ~12 o'clock
Bass - ~12 o'clock
Mid - ~11:30
Treble - ~ 2 o'clock
Gain - 12 o'clock

as far as the governors, I really like them. They're supposed to be comparable to the Vintage 30's. I tried the Mesa through Vintage 30's in the music store, and I think they are a little brighter/punchy than the Governors, IMO.

:biglaugh: :thanks:

Also, how's the reverb on the Rectoverbs. I think I should have gotten the model with the reverb, ,but for some reason I thought it would be cheaper to get the solo 50 without reverb and get a fender reverb tank :smack: Rectoverb = $100 more. Fender reveb tank = over $400 more.

I've heard the GT 12AX7-M made a huge difference and I'm soon going to pick one up. I run JJE34L's in mine and it gets a slightly more Marshall-y feel to the drive.

Clean Mode:
Gain: 12:30
Treble: 12:15?
Mid: 10:45
Bass: 11:15
Prescence: 1:30

This has a nice, warm, jazzy tone that I love... at least that is what I hear...

Wow, another Nathan! :cool3: That doesn't happen often...

The Reverb isn't bad at all! Compared to my Fender '65 Deluxe Reissue though, there is a difference. The Rectoverb doesn't have the spacial quality the Fender has but it's not bad at all for a "high-gain" amp. But, that is what Fender is known for...
