Some more Seth Lover pickup stuff

Re: Some more Seth Lover pickup stuff

ALF the dissonant bends and the unusual timing of the intro threw me for a bit, wasn't what I had expected. The following part was then more in keeping with what I have come to expect. I like it when people push the envelope, play outside the box. I have enough on my hands to keep inside the box.

That was a cool one! Thanks for posting it.

Man, that's cool. Al.C, what is a dissonant bend? Is it that stuff from about 0:06-0:10 where it gets that kind of vibrating noise in it?

What I am refering to is when notes are straight forward chordal tones or expected harmony notes they have that "oh ya it was what I am used to hearing", what our ears are used to in western harmony. When tones are outside either diatonic harmony or just slightly off, a sense of dissonance or tension is developed. Now I would have to listen to see if it is just the phase shifting of the leslie effect or the actual notes and accuracy of the bends that created that sense of "tension". Tri-tone bends sound similar, they fit okay but they give you the sense that you have to move on, you don't want to sit on them. Hope that makes some sense. :)

Re: Some more Seth Lover pickup stuff

nice tune again! sick rythme playing! great fun little things going on there. as normal, great lead playing and sound........

one suggestion if i may...try putting a little echo or delay on the lead throughout the song....

very nice thing there though....

Thanks guys! :D

Al, you mean I did all that?! I'm a total moron when it comes to musical theory or composition, I just play what I hear in my head.

xerxes, I think there is delay on the whole lead part. It's just that if you don't end the notes abruptly, you won't hear it that much. That's a cool technique for using delay. Play smoothly and you don't hear it, play staccato and it kicks in :D
