Hey folks,
I was chatting with one of our fellow members today, treyhaislip, and he suggested I post some of these pics to see what you all think.
One of the local lumber yards has some really good prices on hardwood lumber so I picked some up on my trip down there a couple weeks ago. The biggest purchase was a piece of Wormy Maple that is 2" thick X 14" wide x 12' long. I had to get them to cut it in two to get it into the truck, but @ $1.94 BF the price was good... $72.00 Total
This should be enough for quite a few bodies and necks !

.
Then another find I made was a piece of Swamp Ash that is kind of unique... I had never seen swamp ash that had horizontal grain lines until I found this piece of wood... I bought it from an on-line guitar body blank dealer and paid as much for this one blank as I did for the 12 ft. of Wormy Maple.

Of course I had to explain to my wife that because I had all of this wood I needed some machinery to work it into guitar bodies. So after a few foot rubs and some very expensive dinners I was able to pick up an almost new Grizzly Shaper/Router off of Craigslist and a brand new 14" Grizzly band saw. :arms:
