Some new stuff I've been working on- ALL Jazz neck

Your gonna have to forgive the drum programming and sloppy solo. I'll get better with practice I promise! Preproduction implies I haven't thoroughly mixed it yet cuz I'm not really happy with all the sounds and some of the takes are a little messy for the same reason, but I mix as I record anyway so it's not completely raw. I'll probably do some vocals over it sometime next week and set it aside until I have more songs written. Let me know what you think please!

Oh yeah- it's all Jazz neck, peavey bandit for clean tones except for the very end which is Vamp. Guitarsuite for dirty rhythm, Vamp with guitarsuite tubescreamer for the solo around 3 minutes in.

bump. I'm a bit apprehensive about that ending riff- thinkin about cutting it in favor of something more minor key. C'mon guys- Opinions! Sloppy parts here and there I know but I could only have the amp on for an hour so was really just looking for feedback on structure/songwriting.

Last bump then I'll just let it die. I'm paranoid about not getting any feedback though.

nice work...lead work needs some de-mudding.....as well as the intro has some fuzz to it...but good tones and timing

It's a little tough for me to give an opinion. Maybe if I could get some idea of what the lead vocals or lead part is going to be like it would help. So far all I hear is background support playing. So there is no context from which to render judgment one way or the other.

The intro with the bass line sounds like a heavy reggae. You might want to add more elements of that in the begining to drive that point home. Like upstroking chords on the guitar reggae style.

Hey- thanks for taking the time to respond! I hadn't thought of it as reggae but now that you mention it, caravan and groups like that used upstroke guitars quite a lot so I think maybe I'll change the first clean section to that. I think I'd rather leave the first bit with just bass, keys, and vocals though. After I've finished the demo vocals I'll post in this thread :)
