Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Bullet Proof Toneologist
Thought I would toss up and old one I posted a while back. Going crazy waiting for the mixing to be done on my upcoming disk so I thought I would toss a track up while I keep being patient. :smack:

This track is very 70s funk fusion, Sophisticated Mama is the title. I am useing the A2 59 which is on about 80 percent of the album. The Plexi RI does all the guitar tones, even the clean stuff. The track has a nice cop show vibe, I just need a triangle going ta-ting-ta-ting on it...

Re: Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Hey, I've heard this one before ;)

I check out your page from time to time because I like a lot of the grooves. And as flank pointed out the drum sound is pHat :smoker:

Cool track man

Re: Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Thanks for sharing Kevlar!! :smoker:

Nice tone and ice-crushing song (means that it kicks arse!)...I´m in the mood for songs like these for some months :)

Friggin Rawkin!

Thanks Flank,

For me it honestly all starts with the drums, they gotta inspire me to do the rest. After that the rest falls in place pretty easily. Thanks!!

Thanks a bunch, I appreciate you hitting my site, this disk should be done soon. The tracking is done but the mixing has been way too slow and is out of my control right now. I am going a bit crazy.

I dig the phrase Ice Crushing!! I will try and remember it. I am glad you liked it, thanks!

Stevo- "High class funk man. Great recording.. killer chops as always.. love that plexi tone".

Stevo, man I was kinda hoping for some low class funk, but I think I can live with that. As always thanks and much appreciated!

Thanks Jeff!! That 59 was in my 62 RI Strat for a long time. I only yanked it out as a friend wound me one of his own creations and I fell in love with it. That A2 in the 59 is smokin though.

Thats an awesome track. Love the groove and melody line. Need...Longer ....solo!
AHHHH.

You are truly a guitarists guitarist, requesting a longer solo on a solo guitar track. I love it!!! Thanks man!

Rid- I always appreciate your comments. I hope ( fingers crossed) to have this very soon, weeks are turning into months on this thing. ARRGHHHHH

Mrid, that intro is from a vintage porn music CD I found. It is pretty hilarious stuff.

Re: Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Of course!..LOL. I think of the main line as your vocal part, kinda a like a verse, chorus or whatever and then you need a few solo spots,, hehehe. I like the one you did though. Cool legato lick in there and great bends and vibrato. I always say you can tell the difference between a pro and every other player by their bends and vibrato. Your a pro for sure man.

First off thanks for the compliment!! Much appreciated. I preach bends and vibrato to no end, I remember in the mid 80s Leslie West had a Guitar Player Mag interview and was essientially screaming that point in the words. It really stuck with me. The thing has gotta sing!!

Re: Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Love it-as always-great funk, solid tone-where's the steak knife?

Re: Some Plexi RI Funk.....

Thanks Dave!!

Steak Knife? Please splain it to me, I don't know what that means.
