Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

Wait a minute...

The tremolo cover is the wrong color!

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

That finish on the forearm cutaway is quite arousing. It's also funny how the headstock spreads the keys apart, defeating the purpose of online tuning keys.

When I suggested that it *might* be a Kramer KS-400 and worth $129...

Thanks for that but I did have a chance to get my buddy at guitar center to run the serial number and get the info for the build and type but thanks for your concern

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

Unfortunately this is business as usual in Kramer-land. There are a lot of scammers out there, and I sincerely hope that potential buyers educate themselves. With VintageKramer.Com it shouldn't be too hard!

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

That's appalling. I just bought an F3000 for less than half that. First time I've seen a period Kramer gig bag, but I'll take it!

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

His buddy at guitar center ran the serial number for him, huh? (Thats enough right there)
Well there's no running a serial number really when it comes to Kramers, only if you know enough details between the specific models will you get an idea on the time frame, which is fairly consistent and conclusive, however the serial number on that little Krapper isnt even listed or registered because its a low end guitar that didnt merit the time to do so.
Yea KS-400 maybe? Either that or a Korean XL-3, but definitely not a Baretta. The only thing that would be comparable to would be a Kramer Classic 1 because of the SSS pickguard, but thats an 8-hole vs the 11-hole on this.
The only thing this has in common with a Baretta is that it also has 6 strings that you pluck or strum with a plectrum.

Re: Somebody quick - buy this Kramer "Beretta"

I had a buddy who fell victim to a Kramer scam. He got a scrap Kramer neck, but a decent strat body and pickguard from the late 60s that was more than worth what he paid for it.

Gotta wonder how that happened.

This totally made sense to me.
