Someone put an EMG in a RG550?

I wanna test my 85 in my RG... Where to put the battery? I'm going to try out anyway
but wanna ask before!

If I remember right I've read the Jack in the RG isn't really stereo and bad for EMGs?

There's plenty of room in the cavity of an RG for a 9V battery.

The primary role of the stereo jack that is supplied with the EMGs is to act as an on/off switch for the battery.

I think Ibanez guitars come with a stereo jack but only 2 lugs are wired up. However, it's difficult to determine what each lug is for...

You may want to buy a new barrel type stereo jack from a place like guitarelectronics.com

The jack is stereo in the Japanese RG's (5XX and up)

Just connect the battery lead to the un-used lug on the jack.

I put a 81/SA/85 set in an RG750 once and had no trouble with room for the battery.

If I have some spare time I will do the change...
I'm gonna wire it two vol two pickups and put the JB in the neck until I have some money for a neck pub!

Both pickups on makes no sense right... coz the 25k load will dump the passive pup too much I guess!
So I got a 5 way switch and dunno what to use the 5 Positions for :(

Done!! Seems much brighter than the JB!! But sounds good... going to try it loud...
