It's not handwired.

Made in China. We're supposed to frown on that, right?

Have you tried one, because they sound awful.

I think I would spend my $800 on a used Mesa/Boogie DC-5 or similar.

$800 on the used market can get you a far better amp than the Slash combo. I've seen 70's marshalls occasionally go that low.

Agree with everyone above. Head to Reverb.com and do an amp search with max:$800 and you'll be in some nice gear.

Hell yeah. I picked up a 5:50 2x12 combo for $200 a few weeks ago. I see other older mesas for 5-600 all the time.

Yup. I just checked my local CL and there's a series 1 Single Rectifier for $550.

Yep, that deal was the talk of the forum for awhile. Will never see that again! I paid $1,125 (New) for my MESA 5:25 (12") a few years ago and still love it!!!

Non-apropos of anything: I just to add that the nice thing about having your AC on the fritz is that you can really crank the stereo - because everyone else has their AC on, and their windows closed.
