Someone tell me about Matchless... Please

I know I'm getting myself into more trouble, but what gives with these guys?
I've heard they are top notch pieces of gear, awesome tone etc...
So... are they voiced after a Vox, Fender, Marshall, or something else? Or are they simply their own beasts?
The Lightening and the DC30 models look interesting.
Can someone splain it to me?

The DC30 is a take off of the Vox AC30. It doesn't sound exactly like an AC30 though. It's an incredible amp and built like a tank. The DC30 was the amp that, at least in my view, kicked off the whole boutique craze. They were (still are) used by many performers and session guys in the nineties.

The Lightning is the EL84 channel of the DC30.

So definitely more of a clean or moderate gain amp then.

The Celtic Franklin is an improvement on the Lightning.

Yes. You can get it to overdrive pretty good when you crank it. The tone really is lovely and it sounds awesome with pedals.
