I can only compare the bridge models, but I find the A2P to be a little brighter and thinner than the Dimarzio, which is a little warmer in the low mids. It's not a huge difference.
I like the tonal balance of the classic a lot, but there's this weird thing going on with the pick attack and note bloom that really bugged me. I read someone here describe it as being like the difference between playing an amp and a modeler, which is IMO a good analogy. So for me I'd prefer the Duncan, but in the right guitar (Fender?) the Dimarzio might be a great choice.
