Been jammin with the Wolfgang pups. The overwound A-2's are pretty incredible sounding.
EVH knew what time it is.
Was the original Franken guitar with the over-wound by hand by Seymour himself Gibson 335 pup an A-2 by chance ?

If I only had a few more guitars,,,,,,,,, the duncan El Diablo has always had my interest. It might well have the tightest lows of any a2 powered model.

Ibanez super 70 pickup was in Edwards destroyer even for a short period the super 70 still had the chrome cover in it before he cut it up into the shark then Edward changed the pickup to a cream color mighty mite pickup.Edwards Ibanez destroyer was(before it was cut up to the shark guitar)used to record Van Halen 1, all the songs on Van Halen 1 with out trem was done with the Ibanez destroyer.

Asking specifically about the pup in the Franken Strat not the Shark.
Guess will never know for sure.

Edwards best sound on the first album was the Ibanez destroyer not the franky, the real Brown Sound guitar was the Ibanez Destroyer. The real iconic Van Halen guitar
(guitarist that really know the brown sound)should have been Edwards Ibanez destroyer not the franky.

I have an Ibanez Super 70 MINI-hum. Try to find one of those some day.
Didn't come with a cover, but it has gold polepieces.
I think it came out of an Ibanez George Benson (that's what my research tells me)
It also has A8 in it, wave a screwdriver tip anywhere near the thing and it reaches out and grabs it like quicksand.
About 7.2k.

Subjective Bro. YMMV.

That’s good BRO you must dislike the first album most of Van Halen 1( first album) was all Ibanez Destroyer,it was also used on the majority of Van Halen II and Women and Children first.

Any 'fact' needs to be confirmed by at least two independent reliable witnesses. There are multiple conflicting accounts of what was used on various VH recordings. No one in this thread sat in on the recording sessions for any Van Halen recording to be able to say with certainty, which is why these threads go on so long, ad infinitum.
