SOMETHING WILL VOCALS FROM MY BAND CHECK IT OUT

Re: SOMETHING WILL VOCALS FROM MY BAND CHECK IT OUT

It sounds really good to me. Like Jolly said, it's not my style .... but it's good!

I like the music a lot. Not sold on the singer.

But overall, it's pretty damn cool.

Very Smashing Pumpkins-ish.

hey at least the vocals dont sound like that annoying smashing pumpkins guy who looks like lord voldemort :headbang:

Honestly, I was really digging it until the vocals came in. Just not what I was expecting. They seemed to fit better in the chorus, but I wasn't digging them in the verse. Maybe it's just the mix though, they seem to be quite separate and on top of the rest of the band. Then again, it could just be me :laugh2:

what were you expecting?

You know astro, I make fun of you a lot, especially when you post something that totally negates the existence of any testicles you might have.

But this stuff is genuinely pretty cool, and honestly, it sounds like it has much more musical integrity than any of the stuff you've posted before. Cool riffs, good ideas in the songwriting, great energy, and great execution.

Good job duder!

thanks man, i like to think ive learned from my previous music and am starting to find my voice when it comes to guitar playing ive gotten to the point where parts are effortless and writing is no longer a struggle.

Man you are such a talented guy and I love to hear what you come up with.
Putting on my music business hat I always think that if you're going to emulate another band's sound you had better do it better than them. You have some good sonic signatures here - my feeling is you need to make them your own and "own" them.

thanks man, I'd actually like to thank all of you for being constructive as opposed to pushy and critical.

Re: SOMETHING WILL VOCALS FROM MY BAND CHECK IT OUT

sounds like the singer is trying too hard to sing clearly at the start and the vocals come out harsh. improves as the song progresses especially during the choruses. In the verses it strikes me like he´s struggling to fit the lyrics into the song.

I wouldn´t be big into the other stuff I´ve heard from you (that´s not to say that it´s bad - it´s not, just not my thing) but this is much more interesting.

Cool, thanks for the input. this is an interesting point.

Re: SOMETHING WILL VOCALS FROM MY BAND CHECK IT OUT

Really liked the clean guitar, and I thought the riffing was creative. The production was good too, but like others, I wasn't quite convinced by the vocals.

You actually have a pretty good voice, and it's a lot better than I could do. But the melody you chose is really happy sounding and it sort of alters the mood of the song. You also sound strained -- like you're really pushing to hit all the notes. Do you have a practice regime or regular warm-up you do? As a listener, I wanted to hear something either deeper and possibly more gruff, or something more restrained and rich in timbre. You could probably achieve either with some practice. What's your typical warm-up? Do you have a daily practice routine?

Hope that doesn't sound too critical -- I think the music is awesome :)
