Song for Shawn

Re: Song for Shawn

Hey, well done!

I thought that was a very moving and beautiful composition.

You actually make that Squire sound like it is a Custom Shop!:laugh2:

Thanks Soulman! :)

Hehe well..I started playing the Squire since yesterday. Before that I played the Ibanez RG for 99% of the time so I have to get used to the neck again but I think I´m a strat guy at the end :)

Re: Song for Shawn

Very nice! You get great tone out of that Squier and you obviously know how to play it. The best part of the song for me was before the backing tracks came in. Your feel and sense of melody was absolutely stellar there, and it didn't sound like you were trying too hard. Towards the end, it felt like you were trying to force out those fast runs. You either need to forget about those, or practice until they sound as effortless as the intro does.

Thanks for listening!

Yeah, totally, I tried too hard and it spoils the song at the end. On the Ibanez I could do some faster runs but the thicker neck on the Squier beats me down :)

Thanks Rid!

I´m considering to buy Cool Rails (bridge) for the strat...cool guitar :smokin:
Have to remove the Squire logo though.

This is what I did to my Squier when I was 13

:D

I agree Re: The fast runs, they need to be smoother. But that's the only criticism I can think of.

Your sense of melody was great as always.

Re: Song for Shawn

Dude, that is the most impressive yet! Normally, I talk about your compositional attributes or stuff related to style. But this time it's tone! With that tone setting, if you miss a step you're as good as dead. This stuff is unforgiving of any flaw in your playing. Excellent!

Re: Song for Shawn

So much of music today seems pushed or pretentious. This clip is NOT. You spoke to me w/ ur instrument, & because it came from ur <3, it was easy to listen to & enjoyable.

People often think that technique is the hardest part of becoming an excellent musician. They are wrong. Comunicating something honest, viable, & listen-worthy is the hardest part. You've done that here.

Re: Song for Shawn

I can't say it any better than Foamy did.

I really enjoyed that, you made my day, thanks. :)

Re: Song for Shawn

Woah foamy..you know how to verbalise things  Thank you for the great comment man!

Thanks to the others as well. That makes the work worth.
