Song teaser - tips on tone?

Re: Song teaser - tips on tone?

A bit more clarity for your 8 string guitar would help the riffs pop out a lot more! Not sure what string gauge you use, but heavier gauge really helps in that department for low strings. As far as amp settings and EQ goes, make sure you sweep the gain knob to find a sweet spot where you're getting enough saturation while not bringing in too much fuzz! This will help your riffs sound MUCH fatter and more aggressive after the mixing and everything. Ironic, eh? Less gain than expected = more aggresion, say whaaaaaat. You want to do the same thing with the bass knob for your amp.

BTW, random cool thing about the video: I was totally tripping out watching the low string bounce around in your videos! XD It looks like a jump rope xDDDDDDD

Post more recordings and I'm sure everyone here's happy to chime in on some EQ settings and what not!

Re: Song teaser - tips on tone?

Thanks daenius, I will definitely toy around with the settings in my upcoming videos. I've also recently upgraded the bridge pick up on my RG8 to Dino Cazares' Seymour Duncan 'Retribution' Blackout pickup. That should go a long way in helping me achive a crisper tone. I've gone and bought a slightly thicker 8 string gauge too so we'll see what kind of results I get in future recordings!

Really appreciate it! :)
