Soon-to-be NAD!

Finally! Just ordered meself a brand new Vox AC30C2 + footswitch for the tremolo and reverb!
If I'm lucky, it will arrive before the easter weekend. If not, next week. Pictures will of course come when I get it!

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

Well, not only does it sound awesome, it also got a really nice tremolo and spring reverb! I'm a sucker for analog effects, so especially the reverb is an awesome addition for me.

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

Well, I'm planning on running it clean with dirt pedals in front. So volume wise, it will be usable for home situations (I'm not much of a balls-out cranked amps anyway).
It's been a dream amp of mine for about as long as I've been playing, seeing as how some of my idols have been using them. Like The Beatles and Peter Buck of R.E.M.
Besides, if I get myself a new band where I need my own amp (only rehearsed and gigged in kitted out places before), I'll be all set!

Nice. I have been lookin at Vox amps and Vox-like amps. Would the 15 watt Vox not be loud enough for a band practice and gigs?

It should probably be enough, however it's missing some features the AC30 has. For instance, it's missing the low gain inputs, so not possible to jump the channels for extra gain. Also, the reverb controlls are more basic than on the AC30.

Did not know that. Thanks for the info.

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

They're slow. The VFS2-A footswitch for the reverb and tremolo was apparently out of stock and won't get in until the middle of may. But I asked them to send the amp anyway. According to the tracking, it should show up either tonight or tomorrow. I hope. :P
Will probably call them again after I get the amp and ask them to cancel the order on the footswitch, and try and buy one from a store instead.

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

Update: Got a call today, amp will be delivered tomorrow! Yay!
Also, I cancelled the order on the VFS2-A and bought one in a store instead. :P

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

those things are way cool pedal platforms. One of the biggest reasons I picked the DRRI over it though was weight. But the clean tone on those AC30 C2 is beautiful and yes the reverb and trem are very good. Enjoy and I look forward to the pics!

edit: can't believe that footswitch doesn't come with the amp!

Indeed! Cheaper amps come with footswitches, like the Bugeras. Can't complain much tho, seeing as I'm getting one of my dream amps. :P
And yeah, pedal platform indeed! Gonna run it clean with pedals for dirt. The DRRI is nice, but I just preffer the Vox sound. I love surf rock tho, but I doubt the Vox won't be able to make great surf tones. :P
Also: Expect photos! :P

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

Wow what a great amp. I bet you can't wait till tomorrow! How much does that beast weigh? What kind of speakers are in that one?

Re: Soon-to-be NAD!

2 x 12" Celestion G12M Greenback speakers. Amp weights in at 32kg.
It didn't show up yet tho. Delivery dude said between 12 and 4 today. It's now almost 5:30.
