Bought one of these last week off the Gear Page Forum for $125 should be here some time this week.
Now I need a power adapter to go with it along with another cable.

Re: Soon to be NWD

Nice, very nice. I had one of those for a while and I really liked it. I couldn't get along with the sweep, and I couldn't figure out why for the longest time. After playing what felt like every Dunlop made wah under the sun (in actuality about 6-7) I found out that in my rig, for playing distorted with a wah, I need one with a fuzz buffer in it. I just got a really nice wah a few days ago and I love it. Part of me wishes I had kept the MC-404 and dropped a fuzz buffer in it, because it is a spectacularly versatile and great sounding wah. But I like my new one, so I don't mind.

Just beware that the boost is pretty much useless.

Why do you say the boost is useless? Did it go past unity gain?

Re: Soon to be NWD

It just doesn't sound good. I believe they put the boost circuit before the wah instead of after, so you're basically hitting the wah with a boost, and it doesn't really give you extra volume, just more distortion (not the good kind). IMHO

Re: Soon to be NWD

killer wah. Look inside and youll also find 3 trimpots. One is for setting the gain level and the other 2 are for adjusting the q point for both inductors so you can fine tune it to your taste.

Is the gain level trim pot for the boost or no? Also does rolling off the gain make the wah more transparent and color the tone less? I've noticed that this wah colors the tone a bit not that thats a bad thing to me but just wondered.

Re: Soon to be NWD

Just opened up the box it sound awesome. The red fasel comes real close to Jerry Cantrells Wah sound. This Wah doesn't quack like I thought I thought it would but it still has a nice sweep. I will need to pop it open and mess with either the rocker wheel and the two Q pots for each inductor.

Re: Soon to be NWD

Man all I did so far was loosen the rocker all the way and haven't even touched the Q pots yet and this thing sound Fu#$%n awesome. I see what you mean when you were talking about the boost but I set it kind of Low so it's useable. I can't see how the guy who sold this to me didn't want to keep it over the Cantrell Wah but it's mines now.
