I like V30's, but only in 4x12's.
I don't think they sound that good in 1x12's or 2x12's.

If you had a time machine, this would be great advice. This begs the question, "Why am I posting in a two-year old thread?"

If you like V30's the Emi V12 is a sort of C-Rex meets V30. I like those for a more British vibe.

The Cannibas Rex is very smooth and balanced. It'll be stiff for a while. Give it some time to break in.

Most certainly. I found the CR to sound very 'boxy' until it broke in.........

I've got a C. Rex in a blackface 6L6 I built. I love this speaker in blackface amps. And, I never met a speaker yet that didn't need some break in.

Once it's break-in, the CR must be of of the best all-around speakers ever created.

Having said that, the only speaker I like more than the CR is the Celestion G12-65.

YMMV.

Speaking of Eminence, does anyone know about the Eminence 12" that would have been in a Fender Deluxe Reverb Reissue, an MIA from about 9-10 years ago?

The small one is a Fenderish knock off that I traded a MIM Tele for. Single 6L6, 12AX7, 5Y3. Boost switch, with volume, tone and presence.

Nice little number that doesn't get to lead tones for me, but the rhythm tones are nice and fat.

The other amp I'd run through it is the Music Man amp head I have, on the 65 watt setting.

It's true that hemp makes much stronger paper than trees do, so the cones can be thinner and break up nicer than a conventional paper one and still take a beating. Kudos to Eminence for "getting it" in the face of idiot prohibitionists.
