So a few days ago I got this guitar body from GFS (left handed though) for $23. I thought from the picture it was an arch top but it turns out that it's flat, oh well. It had a good amount of chips and dings but since I work in a body shop it wasn't a problem getting them out.

To back track a bit, about two months ago I made a body like a Kramer Pariah out of poplar from Home Depot. From far away it looked bad ass for a first time effort, but once you got up on it all the flaws came out. I could never keep the thing in tune, the bridge was just a smidge off so the low E string was almost over the edge. There's other little things that annoy me with the guitar so I decided it was time to get something else.

I was going to get a Warmoth routed body blank but then I found GFS body. I figured a guitar that was already cut would be easier than trying to do it myself again. The old guitar had my Super Distortion & Super 2 in it so I really wanted an HH body but I have the right tools so it wasn't a problem. I made a humbucker template and routed out the neck SC to a HB. I never use tremolos so I filled in all the holes with left over poplar pieces then filled in the gaps with body filler, I did the same with the middle SC hole. Today I went into work when our department was closed and painted it. The paint was much darker but I put some purple pearl in the clear which lightened it up, still looks cool though. So far I've wet sanded sanded it and hand buffed the top, I'll use the buffer tomorrow.

Probably Monday i'll mount the bridge, i'm doing a string though flat mount with String Savers. I'll post pictures as soon as it's done.
