soul bender volume pot question

hey so my fulltone soul bender is from 2000 before Fuller revised and increased the volume that next August.

what I want to know is can you simply replace the volume pot from a 500k to a 250k and increase the volume? or is there more work to it like rebiasing, etc?

basically I want more volume out of it without buying the newer one and selling the one I have. I'd like to get my local shop to do it and I was wondering if it is as simple (with the know how) to do.
