Sound bytes of Seymour Duncan Atiquity humbuckers???

Hi guys,

Do any of you have any sound bytes of either model of the Antiquity humbucker pickups? I'm particularly interested in bytes from a Marshall (or similar) tube head though 4x12 celestion cab (or similar). I want to see how the sound compares to the SD Seth Lover byte on the SD site. Thanks!

Clay,

Welcome to the Forum (if no one has welcomed you yet).

I did some samples of Antiquities in my Les Paul a couple of years back. Lokk on Scott F's website (Toneninja). It's in a section where folks submitted samples.

Antiquities are my absolute favorite PAF-clone. They nail the Old Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Taylor sound to a tee.

If you need any more info. let me know,

Jeff

Clay,

Go to www.toneninja.net Then select Pickups fromthe menu, then go to Other Songs and Sound files. in there you can select Forum member samples somewhere.

The 1st Antiquity sample I did says it's the neck pickup, but that was actually the bridge pup...my error. The 2nd sample is of the middle position.

Good luck,

Jeff

If Scott_F will forgive me for not mentioning it: Check out his extensive shootouts of PAF-style pups. Very well done. They're on his site as well.

My shootout was a lame ass attempt, but they did it for me. Not through a marshall, but through a POD. No gain either. Hard to really make a comparison to be frank without the gain aspect.

Listen to the seth lover clips on this website and then take a tiny touch of the "edge" off of them and you're there.

Scott,

Don't short change yourself. It was a very thorough effort that no one else had attempted. I agree with your assessment of the Seth vs Ant. Seth's defintiely have more initial "bite" to them, but then smooth out like an Antiquity.

Hey, exactly the thread I was looking for! Scott, is it possible to upload some Antiquity samples to www.seymourduncan.com in order to compare them to the existing Seth Lover clips which I like best?
