hey guys um just a question real quick. when i bend on 12-17 the high E string mutes.. just that one string i can't bend on

i'm thinking the 17 fret is kinda high or i need to adjust the truss rod.. any comments.. i don't want to mess with the truss rod unless i have to and i don't know how to refret .. so i was just wondering if there where any solutions besides stop bending

you can bend on the b string on those frets but not the e right? sounds like a fret crown and polish might work for ya

YEP, Sounds like your freting out. This means one or more of your frets
has worn lower that the frets before it. So the frets have to be leveled
(filed down) to match the low fret. then crowning makes the edges
of the frets round again, Then they are polished smooth. This is known
as a grind & polish.

It's also possible that your action is too low for the amount of curvature (radius)
your fretboard has. Have a tech take a quick look at it. He'll tell you if it's a setup problem, an inherantly bad neck, or something that can be solved with a fret dress.
