Sound difference between 250k and 500k tone pots?

Hi all,

I've just installed the Les Paul electronics kit into my Epiphone Dot. The volume pots are 500k and the tone pots are 250k. What difference would it make if the tone pots were also 500k? Just wondering for future projects. I have a couple of other guitars that I now have the itch to tweak. Thanks in advance.

You would get a little more high end out of 500k tone pots. Not much as your volume pots are already 500 but a touch more.

When you say "high end", do you mean it will get slightly louder or more treble?... for lack of better words.

But you probably won't notice much if any difference...not like the difference between a 500k and 250k volume pot.
If you already have the 250k's in there, I would just leave them alone.

If the taper of the tone sweep seems odd you might benefit from the 500k. The use of 250ks kinda squashes your resonant peak.
