Sound has suddenly changed - tone pots not working properly?

Hi all.

I opened up my strat to fix an issue with a stripped screw on one of the pickups. After sealing it all back up again, it sounds different - both pickups are very flabby, and it sounds like both tone pots are making little, if any difference.

I pulled it back apart again to check things with the DMM. Both pots appear to test OK, and it seems the correct contact is being made between the pickups, the wipers on the switch, and the tone pot. I'm not sure what else to try.

Any suggestions as to what might be causing this, or what could potentially cause both tone pots to stop inputting into the sound? The guitar is a HH blacktop stratocaster with an STHR-1B hot rail in the neck and an APH-2B Slash humbucker in the bridge, which are wired up to a 5-way switch --> 1 volume + 2 tone.

Thanks

Solved as quickly as it opened. The cause? Bizarrely, my guitar --> pedal cable had gone bad, changing it has fixed the issue.
