Can I use a DpDt switch for the same purpose as a SpDt switch? If so, How?

Post the number of pins and the number of positions, then you will get an answer. Otherwise the question is too vague.

generally...extremely generally speaking...yes, you can use a dpdt switch in place of a spdt. you would only use one half of the switch. dpdt has two switches built in.


but there are variations with 3 positions on-off-on..2 positions on-on....etc.

Oops...they would be 6 prong DpDt switches being used in place of a 3 pronged SpDt switch
