Hi everyone! Im new to the forum.Been lurking for a while and decided to join.Alot of great info here.I am going to be getting new speakers soon.I have a platinum mooded DSL100 from voodoo and Im running it through a Marshall 1960bv 4x12 cab.Right now the cab has V30 but Im wanting to change it up a bit.I was thinking about WGS Reaper50s and Et65s in a Xpattern or ET65s and Green Berets in a X pattern.I play mostly classic rock and hard rock. What speaker mix are you running with your DSL?

After the speaker change I was going to do a pickup change also.Right now I have the PGs in the bridge of my LesPaul standard.I have been looking hard at the Brobucker.WCR is on the list also with the American Steel (bridge) and the Darkburst (bridge). Thanks and I look forward to any suggestions!!

When I had my dsl I had always wanted to run emi wizards and swamp thangs
A brighter head with that combo would have been mmmmmn

G12T-75 and V30s in an X pattern.

^^^^^ This if you're metal inclined.

If you want more classic rock, V30 with a G12H30 in an X pattern.

I recently traded in my Carvin Legacy 2x12 and Marshall 4211 2x12 combo- the Carvin originally had dual V30's, Marshall had dual G12T75's. I didn't care for the tone of each, so I swapped a speaker from each. When I traded it in everyone was amazed how great each set of speakers sounded

I have seen where alot of people do the V30s and 75s.I was hoping the WGS speakers would smooth things out a little.Im getting alot of grit. The more I think about it I may need to do a pickup change first.I also like the idea of maybe just picking up a couple of used 75s(already broken in).:scratchch

I know alot of people use this setup for metal but do you think it would be good for classic rock also? I think it may give a cool hard edge to some old classic stuff. The 75s would take away some of those massive mid humps I have for sure:) Harshness in the upper mids is what im dealing with now and trying to get under control.
