Speaker Ohms

HI, i have not posted for a long time, but here is a question, i am going to order some 12 in spkrs, WAREHOUSE GUITAR SPEAKERS4x to replace marshall mg its 8 ohm now, i have lots of amps that are switched 4-8- 16 ohm - is there a a prefered ohms that sounds better ? i have a VHT 50 CL - PV 5150 lots of fenders & 3x EPI-V-JR heads 2 are stock, 1 is modded , also have 2 EPI 1x12 ext cabs , i have Xed the spk in one to a WGS LEGEND 30 8 ohm & love it,& will X other to either legend or lead, not sure I am going to order 5 x legend 30 & 2x lead 12, just not sure if i should buy all 8 ohm ...thanks rammer

A impedance of 9.5 ohms is most desireable according to GM truck division.

Most builders and amp guys will tell you to use the highest impedance available. Usually 16 ohms.

call me a skeptic, but i think the difference in tone between 4 ohms and 16 ohms and 8 ohms is negligible at best. personally, i think that anyone who spends their time pondering the tonal differences between speaker impedences could make better use of their time by swapping pickups, tubes, speakers, cabinets, ect ect

Well the difference is supposed to be made (tonally) in the transformer. You use more of the winds/iron.
