speaker question...

I have four old (but in decent cond) Celestion G12T-75 speakers (16ohm).

Would it be possible to make two - two speaker monitors for a pa system with these?

I've got a decent pa setup, but could use some monitors. And these speakers have just been sitting around unused for awhile.

I'd appreciate any advice/comments/other ideas...

Re: speaker question...

could you? yes.
should you? well, maybe.

you can do it, the problem is that those speakers are voiced for guitar, not for vocals or whatever. they will work but the sound may not be great, on the other hand some monitor is better than none

Re: speaker question...

Celestions really aren't voiced well for monitors. I'd leave the Peavey towers alone. They're nice and solid units, but I've found them to be noisy and heavy. I'd look into maybe some Behringer monitors or maybe Nady through Musicians Friend. They're usually on sale there. Or if you want to go with used (always best in my experience), look for some older JBL or even Fender or Eden monitors.
