Speaker selection

Good morning everyone. I have come to the comclusion that Celestion Greenbacks sound the best in my ears for what I play. I tried out a friend's VOX NT2X12 cab, which has these and I love them. I would like to get a set of these for my 4x12 cab and have a question...


How do I go about wattage selection of the speakers? I have a 100 watt and a 40 watt tube head

yes, the greenbacks are very nice speakers. i have a 4x12 cabinet loaded with them and the only other speaker i would consider getting besides the GB's are the vintage 30s. the GB's are 25W each so if you crank the 100W head through a single 4x12 it may have alot of speaker breakup. in order to keep using GB's with a cranked 100W head, i'd consider a full stack of greenbacks. at moderate to low volumes the speakers hold up.
