Speaker swap / cabinet project

Because my Mesa 2x12 vertical cab lacks low end punch, I'm putting an Eminance Swamp Thang in and taking one of the V30s out.

So... I will have a spare V30 laying around

My first thought was a wide body cab because seems like V30s need air behind them to get the most out of it

Thought?

if you want to get the low end going you might want it to be deeper as well... 2 feet deep. A more spacious overall cab would help with the option of taking off part of the back might be nice if you decide to change speakers again. Are you trying to get more low end from it in a single 1x12 cab?

They tend to get stuck in the upper mid range which is kind of their thing... Santana, Trey, Warren Haynes.

I have one that I throw in my combo when I play with a bigger band but usually use a Weber's G12H30 clone most of the time which has a deeper low end a nice low mid push that gets creamy early and still retains high end.
