Speakers With The Deepest and Tightest Bass for 2x12 Cab

Hey all,

I'm looking to buy a 2x12 cab that currently has Vintage 30's in it. I'm wondering if those speakers have enough bass for my liking. I am using a Marshall JVM 410H head. I would like to have massive amounts of bass. Think Kyuss. But I do not want to use a bass cab because I still want to cut thru the mix in a band setting. Are the Vintage 30's my best bet? Or should I look elsewhere?

Looking for square eggs, aren't you?

The Genz Benz G-Flex is a ported 2x12 that has an unusually deep sound for its size.

That's what I was going to suggest...Swamp Thang. Good solid bass but it still has a nice chimey high end. This is my favorite speaker.

how about the creamback 65w? i hear it is a pretty balanced speaker...

Definitely not the 65, the bass is present but not overly tight or massive.

Try an H30 55hz bass cone, creamback 75, or K100s. Or find some old g12-80s.

But from all the research I've done, the Creamback 65 was thought to be the warmer speaker vs the 75. That not true?

Yes, the m65 is warmer, but the h75 has bigger, and tighter bass/lows.

Forgot to mention earlier, I recent sold my 2x12 cab loaded with (Chinese) greenbacks. I really like the greenback tone but the 2x12 seemed to not have enough bass. I had an opportunity to listen to a Marshall 1960BC 4x12 cab loaded with UK made greenbacks and that thing had massive bass. I'm looking to keep a 2x12 tho for portability reasons. Which Creamback in a 2x12 combination would sound closest to a 4x12 greenback stack?

Greenbacks and their higher wattage g12M creamback siblings are far from being a bassy speaker.
If you want big bottom end from a celestion, go for the g12H creamback. They are the same voice coil and cone but with a much bigger, more powerful magnet.
Make sure your cab has a closed back too, for an extra 6db of low end over an open cab.

seems like the 75h has way more sizzle/treble to go along with the bigger bass, so I will have to pass on that. I'd like the greenback treble response with more bass, therefore I'm thinking 65w is the way to go. Also noted on the closed back cab, I wouldn't have it open.
