Speaking of Bill Lawrence

regarding the L500, ive been wanting to get one for my explorer for quite sometime and was wanting to know if anyone has tried any of the 4 types, being the L500 clean , reg, lead, or XL. thank you all.

Re: Speaking of Bill Lawrence

i used to have the l500xl and i thought it was a good sounding pup, better dirty than clean, havent tried the others

Re: Speaking of Bill Lawrence

I've got a call in to them myself. Everyone gets the XL for the Dime sound, which is great, but I'm wondering what the other ones can be compared to as well. I figure the Regular or Lead one would work for me. I kind of like the rail thing they've got going on. Won't need to worry about pole alignment with string bends and such.

Re: Speaking of Bill Lawrence

I currently use the XL for the bridge and the C for the neck. The C is really bright sort of like a single coil in the neck but, with a buckers vibe to it. The C is one of my most favorite pickups I have ever played in the neck position. I wouldnt recomend it for the bridge though.

Even though the XL and the C are completly different from each other (16K versus 5k) They mix in the coolset way together.

Great information on the pick-ups. I've never had a BL in the neck position, but after reading that I would serisouly consider it. I have a L-500XL in the Bridge of an Alder Body Strat with a maple neck/fretboard, and I love the sound I get out of it.
Rock On :13:
