WhoFan: those Godins look pretty nice, and I know L&M carries Godin so I'll be sure to check 'em out.

I've also had thoughts of a Les Paul, but my only concern is the stock pickups. I'll look around in the used market and see what I can dig up for a decent price.

$629 at Musician's Friend, and you might not even want to change the pickups.

I'd get a couple of nice Epi Les Pauls. Used of course.

Like a used Custom & a flame maple Std, one with a pair of '59's, the other with JazzN/C5. That's a lot of great tones for a modest investment.
