SPH90-1 Phat Cat in Tele middle position

I've got a 50's re-issue Ash Maple neck Tele in which I've put an Antiquity HB in the neck & an STL-1 in the bridge. Love the way it sounds now...

However, I've got this crazy yearning to put a SPH90-1 Phat Cat in the middle position. I'd probably have to move it back towards the bridge so it didn't interfere with the playing of the guitar & I'd use a bridge Phat Cat.

So is this a crazy idea? Would the magnets of all three pups be detrimental to the sound of each pup? Would it be feasible?

Any help appreciated ;-)

It should work (in theory) without any problems. I'd personally try to use a soapbar in the midle,if only to have more space to pick.

I was thinking of maybe a dog ear but I really like the sound of the Phat.

You might find it a little dark.

If you like the PC's sound in that guitar, an alnico II loaded P-90 would be very similar tonally.

Thanks, that's great to know & to be honest, I think the PC would be a little *too* big to make picking comfortable...
