Just got my Spina-fied DS-1 back today. I gotta admit, I was skeptical. I had my doubts. What happens if the mods account for no more than a simple tone change? I love this guy. I was concerned . . . for no reason.
I just can't believe how good this thing sounds now. I'll equate it to the difference between Antiquity's and "regulars". There's just "something" there that wasn't there before. Its a complexity, and richness of the distortion. Its hard to describe.
My other concern is that it wouldn't be all that beneficial with a modeling unit. The exact opposite happened. John's DS-1 gives the digital signal a "liveness" and "presence" that wasn't there before. I have to fall back on the "richness" adjective. Thats the word.
Sorry if I sound gushing. This thing is hot.
I decree, the blue LED to mean . . . Spinafication.
John - thanks buddy. Now I owe you one.
