Splawn Re-Finished Marshall

Had my amp over at Splawn Guitars for some minor repair, and a facelift. They are working on my 4x12 cab, it will match the combo, and should be done on Friday. I love the look of Cane grillcloth much more than the standard black, or even the Salt & Pepper, although S&P runs a close second. The pictures make the cane look darker than it actually is.

Scott does really nice work as always.

Re: Splawn Re-Finished Marshall

I just realized how ****ty my pics are compared to Xssive's. I have a 3.1mp camera, and cant take a clear pic to save my life....I guess I need a tripod. And I should have cleaned the guitars before taking the pic.

Re: Splawn Re-Finished Marshall

You just did this as another excuse to show of your LPs, didn't you!?! :D

It looks very nice. I'm not sure about on a big cab, but I definitely like that look better on the combo, too.

Re: Splawn Re-Finished Marshall

Hey Jeff_h
Does Splawn usually do re-finishing work, or do you just know him enough to have it done? Looks great by the way. :)

Scott does both amp AND cab mods as part of his standard business. He also builds his own cabs. He will re-tolex your existing combo, head or cab as well as re-grilling it. Also, he re-wires cabs with heavier duty wiring, replaces the partical board back on Marshall cabs with 13 ply birch, installs metal handles and reinforced corners if you like.

He is re-grilling and re-wiring my Marshall 1960A as we speak. He's a little behind right now because of so many orders, but he'll be caught up in a few weeks. His work is definately worth the wait, and he knows what he's talking about.

lol, i'll take that as a compliment...my camera i use most times is my old 4.0 mp kodak since my dad hogs the good 5.X mp one lol and i'm too lazy to go upstairs and get it most times when this one is right on my desk. the key is a well lit room with no flash and creative angles and like you said either a tripod or real steady hands!! also clean guitars do help lol but a camera will hide most things on a guitar.

Yea I like that look too. When you said it was refinished by Splawn I was expecting snake skin haha.

Re: Splawn Re-Finished Marshall

Jeff.....Very nice lookin amp....Looks like the 30 and 60 watt models Marshall put out about 5 years ago..JTM 30 and JTM 60? Forget the models?

I Like the cane front and the color alot myself...Enjoy brother!
