Splawns Rule

That's all there is to it.

I swear either it sounds better everyday, or I'm getting better everyday. When I shut it down and it's making those crackly noises, I pet it like a puppy, smell the hot tubes, and sing it a little song, "Splawnie, oh how I love ya how I love ya my dear ol' Splawnie.

It's a slice of METAL heaven for sure.

Y'alls ought to go out and buy yerself one, but after the good write-up in Guitar World, the wait's gonna run you about 4 months.

Been drinkin? Yup

I will own a Splawn amp someday...I live real close to where they make them but it won't cut my wait time any I'm sure.

I spoke to Scott directly about the Nitro. It sounds to be very cool and would compliment any Splawn already in the inventory

Sheesh, I wish. Need a mic, new soundcard, and the house alone for longer than 5 minutes LOL!

Re: Splawns Rule

This one's on the way to me as we speak :)

Man, as time goes by I do think that Plexi is Sexi. I have a see-through front, but if I had to do it again it would be purple plexi. Nice amp. Is the Freezer 8 ohm or 16?

Re: Splawns Rule

I'm another big fan of my Splawn. Especially when I get to crank it up (and by crank it up, I mean at about 1). I pretty much stick with Gear 1 exclusively.

Re: Splawns Rule

After reading this thread last night, I seriously had a dream I had my own Splawn Quick Rod...

I have to take this as a sign...

I wish Scott could make a model that coul run on either 50 watts or less, like 25 or 30.... Not everyone plays in arenas!

Blues, mine is the Splawn Competition. It is 50 watts and switchable to 25 watts, pentode/triode operation. The ONLY downside is that it is single-channel with no dedicated clean channel. However, when you roll the volume knob down on your guitar you get that sort of dirty clean sound which is so cool. I'm thinking of doing a treble bleed mod to my guitars to keep the treble there when dialing down.

But, even running 50 or even 25 watts, it's loud. I attenuate in the house.

Re: Splawns Rule

Yeah, I unfortunately play a lot of diffeent styles of music and need a dedicated clean and distortion channel... Life sucks!

Re: Splawns Rule

+100000 !!!! I love my Splawn Quickrod. For me, it is the perfect 80's metal/rock amp. The previous post was correct. It is so articulate, it forces you to be a better player. There is a lot of gain, but not that super-saturation that many of us (me!) are used to hiding behind. If you f*ck up with this thing, you will hear it. In my 24 years of playing and owning more gear than I care to remember, this amp cuts through a band like nothing else I have ever heard. I couldn't be happier with my amp. Well, for now anyway. Like many of you, I suffer from incurable G.A.S!!!!!! :beerchug:
