Nostalgic Distortion

I bought myself a shiny new 2017 Gibson L.P. Tribute T in Honyburst yesterday!!! I'm quite excited for it to arrive however I do foresee a issue with it. Unfortunately it has a 490T/490R set in it & I've never been a big fan of these pickups in anything I've tried them in, especially of the 490T!!! Also I'm guessing that they are hooked up to a Quick Connect system...
I mean who knows, perhaps I'll like it in this case but I don't have very high hopes? I do have a SH-5 laying around that would be much nicer in the bridge if my theory proves correct & it like the Quick Connect system has 5 wires. This is just for a quick fix, I'm going to rewire the whole thing eventually but I'd like to wait until I know for sure what pickups I want in it?
Now I'm pretty sure the two components can be used together (albeit not color coded) but I'm wondering if anyone here has done this before? If so maybe you could just tell me what goes where instead of me having to go & look up what's what?
