You don't hear much overall tonal difference in guitar circuits with caps,providing the caps are good caps to begin with...I Know Lew and myself have actually wired in a switch whereby we could listen to different caps...Orange Drops are great caps and they are pretty inexpensive..You won't harm anything by changing them out,but you honestly may not hear any difference? I always get my caps from www.mouser.com
I think you have to get the 226 P series to get 100v caps and I also use the 715 series alot in my vintage amps...100 volts is way more voltage capability that you need in your guitar circuit though...Don't buy 400 or 630V caps... :dance:
The stock ceramic disks stink and do NOTHING! I have found my stock caps/pots useless! Hovlands or Orange drops along with better pots will vastly improve your tonal options!
That'll work also...I have to buy all of my stuff from Mouser for the many different components I need to mod various pedals... :13: We're talkin things like LEDs,chips,chip holders,diodes,etc... :wink:
