Picked up a new Squier Jag a few months back, still looking for my sound.
I have a replacement kit I purchased off ebay with humbuckers, wiring, switches, cover, etc. The whole kit and caboodle...
But while everything is apart I'd like to put some great pickups in there, now that I have a way to change them. The stock ones were single coil, and left no room for modification.
I play Stoner/Doom Rock. The originals only gave me the sound I craved when I doubled up two fuzz boxes and some gain in my old (now sold) Peavey amp, but it was so unruly with feedback that it was just too much. Uncontrollable...
But the sound was great! Too bad...
Now playing through a 40W Fender Champion, the old amp was just too complicated with all its settings, and only 15 watts. This one is much better for me.
Also picked up a different Fuzz pedal, the Way Huge Russian Fuzz. Just going to stay with it.
So any ideas on good Duncan pickups for my rig? So many to choose from.
