Squier Jaguar Vintage Modified HH - John Frusciante tone

I have a SQUIER JAGUAR VINTAGE MODIFIED HH and I want to replace neck pickup (it had two duncan designed but I replaced bridge pickup with JB).
Thinking 'bout 59,and I would like to split it. Want to get that John Frusciante tone (or close to that), but I need a single coil pickup so I want to split it but I don't know how it's going to sound.. It would be best to put a single coil in the neck position but it's a humbucker slot and there will be a hole. Can anybody help me?
How the 59 splitted is going to sound on basswood?
Is there anything to put so there isn't a hole if I place single coil?
guitar is made in Indonesia, basswood... If somebody have the same guitar and tried something similar I would like an advice.

I'm not 100% certain if routing is necessary to fit a single coil to that body- but whether or not you need to route for it, a standard Jaguar single coil pickguard should fit the guitar and not show any gaps.

I've never split a '59 but I think it's a lower output people than most people want to split. The most accurate tone easily obtainable from a split humbucker is probably a Stag Mag.
