Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

I don't see a full picture of the neck in the ad, nor is there any mention of it being quartersawn.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

Ah, thanks. I only saw three body pictures. Didn't notice the arrow thing the first time.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

very similar to my Charvel so must be right then. I wouldn't go 400 bucks for it though.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

A friend of mine, who's a great player, bought a Squire Strat with a quartersawn neck, and loved it.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

did you disown him as a friend for playing a strat?

I know a lot of guys who play Strats. They make fun of my guitars, I make fun of theirs. We laugh and nobody gets mad, unlike this forum.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

When you plain-saw a log, you get some quartersawn stock. Nice to see they follow the efficiency of the method and use it, instead of throwing it away out of spite. ("You cheap bastards aren't getting any free upgrades on my watch!")

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

A quality guitar is a quality guitar... who cares what name is on the head stock. The classic vibe squiers are on par or even better than a MIM standard strat that is $400 New.

Re: Squier quarter sawn neck. Wow!

Guy with 8 posts before this thread posts a link talking up a "so-what" guitar in an E-Bay auction. This raises the SPAM flag high IMHO.

You know what guys I found something on EBay I thought was interesting ... and I thought you guys might get a kick out of it too. Apparently I was wrong. Sorry for wasting your time. Apparently because a new guy posts something praising a budget guitar that means they are a spam bot. Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

Only one person voiced that suspicion. The rest of us were discussing the guitar. (well some were poking at each other, but...) I'd say you are welcome here.

However, note the spam thing is a reasonable concern because there are folks that will create an account to post something here pointing to something they are selling and talking it up. Don't take it personal. It's just some guys (not necessarily me) have been here awhile.

Absolutely. I'm sure you're legit, Firebird guy, but I've been on a number of forums where guys have tried some shady stuff. You have to be watchful. Just keep posting, people will know you're ok.

I go on another forum where there's a guy who always seems to turn the conversation around to a certain brand of guitars. You know, a guy could post, Scarlett Johanson is hot! And he'll reply, you know what's hot? BRAND X guitars. You just know the guy has some connection to the company/distributor, but no-one can catch him out.

By and large, though, I find this forum is the most trustworthy of the ones I frequent. Guys and gals here might seem to be pretty quick to call b.s., and sometimes they're wrong, but they keep the place pretty honest.
