Hey all,
I dropped the California 50's set in my Clapton strat over the weekend, and couldn't be more thrilled with the tone (I was replacing Lace Sensors). The middle pup was RWRP obviously, but the neck & bridge pickup seemed the same (they even measured the resistance same on a DMM). I was just wondering, in my haste, could I have accidentally mistaken the bridge pickup for the neck, or are they essentially same pickup? I don't recall that they were marked differently, but as I said, I was in a hurry to hear 'em! And they sounded great! Just thought I'd double check as to avoid problems down the road.
Thanks!
Oh yeah - 1, in spite of what everyone says, traditional single coils sound just fine in a Clapton Strat. No excess noise - it sounds like a normal Strat. And 2, the SSL-1 are great sounding pickups at any price. I wish I would have made the change years ago.
