SSL 5 in the middle?

I asked for new pickups for Christmas. I was planning on going with a an SSL 1 in the middle but someone accidentally bought the SSL 5. Does anyone know how that would sound. I already have a SSL 1 in the neck and a SSL 5 in the bridge but I was just replacing the middle now.

the ssl5 will sound very thick in the middle. not bad but not vintage sounding. if you like soloing with the middle pup, it might be a great option. due to the extra output compared to a vintage type strat pup, you can also set it lower and still get a full sound out of it. if you want to get a classic strat notch tone, it might not be a good fit. if it was purchased in the usa from an authorized dealer very recently, you can probably exchange the pup if its not what you want.
