SSL-5, User advice please.

I picked up a new strat with tex mex pickups which I like. I wired the second tone control for the bridge as well as the middle. Now I've done the whole humbucker in the bridge of a strat thing, and although it sounds cool, a humbucker with singles never really sits well in my opinion.
I just want a little more out of the bridge for rocking out with distortion, leads etc. But still maintain both the sound and look of a single coil. I had a Dimarzio FS-1 in an old Strat that worked well, but thought I might give this a try.
Running a Marshall Jubilee with it.
Opinions.

Excellent choice. There is no mistaking that its a strat bridge pup when you hear it, but it doesnt suffer from being thin and anemic like a lot of strat bridge pups do. Its def got the extra kick for when you need it. My fave strat set is SSL-1 SSL-1 SSL-5

If you like the DiMarzio FS-1 I think you'll love the Seymour Duncan SSL-5.

I've had the FS-1 in a couple of guitars and always enjoyed it. It's a cool pup. I recently put an SSL-5 in my Strat. The output is about the same as the FS-1, but I prefer the tone of the SSL-5. The FS-1 can be a bit nasal-sounding for cleans. The SSL-5 sounds great clean or distorted. It's louder and fatter than a classic Strat pickup but, as scottish says, it's still obviously a Strat pickup. With a tone control connected to the bridge position you're good to go.

Sounds very nice through my Jubilee. Go for it!
