SSL-52n/SSL-52m/TB-14 Alder body,Maple neck,VSVG Bridge,MIJ Strato Clone

if it was me, id go ssl1 neck. i love the 5/2 but really like the a5 neck tone. the c5 will be significantly louder than the singles, which is fine if thats what you want. i played my orpheo strat last night which has aps2/aps2/custom (a3 mag) and its fantastic. the set you mentioned is kinda the a5 version of that, with a little tighter/bolder bass. do you already have the guitar?

SSL-1, I see...I'm a little worried about too much treble because of the WILKINSON VSVG...I went with the SSL-52 because it looks versatile from the demo videos I've seen. It seems to be able to go for rock, pop, metal, and anything else. It uses Alnico 2 in the treble range, which seems to soften the characteristics of VSVG, which tends to have high frequencies.
I don't have a guitar yet. That's because I plan to modify my current guitar to these specs. It will take many years yet, but I am very much looking forward to it.

the 5/2 is a great pup! and it does soften the treble a bit which can be a good thing. i have a hamer daytona with that bridge and i really like it

I use a 5/2 in the middle of my HSS Warmoth Strat. I picked a STK-S4 for the neck to balance with the Hybrid in the bridge...I also wanted all positions to be humbucking (pos 3 is 1 coil from the Hybrid, and the top coil of the neck pickup).
