SSL-7 Quarter Pound for Bridge (HELP)

Hi, I have a '96 american Standard Stratocaster with a set of Duncan Antiquities II Surf with Custom Bridge. I love them but I was thinking if I could get more mids from the middle/bridge position by getting an SSL-7 Staggered Quarter Pound Bridge Pickup. I'm trying to get that chimey and full Edge tone (Streets, I Still Haven't Found, etc). Do you guys think the SSL-7 for bridge pickup would be a good choice?

try playing with the heights of the bridge and middle pups. the qp is going to seriously change the tone from what it is now and kill lots of chime. i like the qp in the bridge but i dont know if its what you are looking for. the edge never used anything like that as far as i know.

+1 to what Jeremy said. The QP is pretty dark. It made my alder strat sound almost like a mahagony PRS. It was really ballsy. For the few weeks I had it I mainly jammed on metal. The Hot single has more mids, but I've never used it myself. I think you'll probably want something not so high output. The Twangbanger has more mids, doesn't sound exactly like a Tele but is still a unique, useable tone with the right setup. I got a really nice tone from the TB with EL-34s and the Brit setting on my amp. Pretty clear. The Edge has a lot of clarity in his tone, right? With clean palm mutes and good delay effects? Hopefully some others can chime in for tips on getting Edge's tone, but I'm with Jeremy in thinking that the QP may not be the best choice.

Thanks for your help! Well, Edge has used the SD Quarter Pound SSL-7 on the bridge position of his Strat. He did this in the past, nobody really knows wich pickup he uses in his "Where the Streets Have no Name" Strat at the moment. But he did use the QP during the 80's. Not sure if he had it slightly unwounded. As I said, I love the Antiquities Surf but I was curious on what different bridge pickups might do to the sound. Edge uses almost everytime the middle/bridge position on his Strat to get that quack tone, with very bright and full highs. Maybe if I got an Antiquity Texas Hot for bridge pickup or maybe the Fralins Vintage Hot. This is mere curiosity though. Perhaps even a good EQ might boost some mids for me. What do you think?
