Staggered or Flat pole single coil pickups for a 10* raduis neck

At what point do you decide you need to switch from staggered to flat poles on a single coil pickup guitar ?
I know most 7 1/4* radius necks usually came with staggered poles but should I use flat poles on a 10* radius neck or does it really matter

It's your choice imo. I always use flat because I prefer the sound and look.

Honestly it doesn't matter all that much, but on radii that are extremely flat or extremely round, I go with the one that better matches the curve.

i almost always go flat but i dont go crazy with it

Always staggered IMO. But modern stagger (like DiMarzio uses) is preferable when using a plain G (like almost all of us do these days).

i know you mean unwound G but wanted to clarify for others reading this ;)

The more radical vintage stagger might not work so well with 10deg. Soft stagger ones seem to be a bit more forgiving.

I use flat if I have a choice.
I would use staggered only if:
- the pickup isn't available flat
- I am using a vintage radius AND
- I am using a wound G

Flat poles on my 12" LTD ST-213 (SD STK-S4/S7) and "radius" poles on my 9.5" Fender Strat (Rose Robusta/Buff Beauty). I had staggered poles before swapping the pickups and like flat (or radius) poles better.
