Can I use standard tuning peg for a reverse headstock guitar? I have a reverse headstock guitar and I want to buy a set of tuning peg for it but it is very hard to find a reverse tuning peg. So can I use a standard tuning peg for it?

Re: standard peg for reverse headstock

So the difference between normal and reverse tuning peg is cosmetic?

The difference is that they are reverse of each other. (see picture.) The retaining screw is usually on the other corner(s) of the peg, which can mean you would have to re-drill to mount them securely. Also, if you were to turn the tuner knob in one direction, the tuning posts will turn in the opposite direction for left vs. right tuners.

They should be perfectly functional, but you might be happier with the results if you hold out for the correct type of tuner to match what you are replacing.

Thanks man you remind me about the holes for the tuner. Well actually I'm not literally replacing but I have a not-yet-drilled guitar (project) and the luthier doesn't have any reverse style tuner in stock, so I'm looking for one and I haven't found any. So I think maybe I can use standard tuner but I'll look for a reverse style coz it looks better anyway

Reverse headstock tuners are also called left handed tuners.
