Standard spaced or Trem spaced?

Hey all, after seeing the 10k BroBucker threads I was thinking of getting one but can't decide on Trem spaced or Standard spaced. If I get it, it'll be going into a Squier Bullet Special with a hardtail bridge. If I eventually get a better guitar to put it in, I'll move the 'bucker into there. For all I know it could be a Strat, a Les Paul, a 335, or who-knows-what. So, which one do you think I should get for this purpose? Will a trem-spaced 'bucker fit in a standard-spaced Les Paul? Will there be a difference in tone because of the dis-alignment? Is it that noticeable? Thanks!

Re: Standard spaced or Trem spaced?

Probably better off with a Trembucker. There are many non-trem guitars that work better with trem-spaced pickups, but there is never a time when a standard spaced pickup will work better than a trembucker on a guitar with a trem.

With a newer Gibson you are better off getting a Trembucker for the bridge and standard space for the neck.

+1 on that...besides the newer Gibbie bridges are a bit wider & gibson is using wider poles on their bridge pickups, heck even my Dean Icon had a 'trem' spaced bridge pickup!

Yep even my old late 70's early 80's Peavey T-60 with a hardtail bridge, works perfectly with a trembucker. The standard's poles wouldn't line up.

On my Epi Dot, once again, Trembucker.
